As part of the ECHO Organ Competition Jehan Crinon Leuven, several inspiring side activities will take place in Leuven. Everyone is welcome to attend — whether you are an organist, student, music lover, or simply curious.

Masterclass on the Goltfuss Organ

A fascinating morning exploring organ music of the 16th and 17th centuries, featuring:

  • Bernard Foccroulle on Organ music in the Southern Netherlands during the 17th century (music by John Bull, Peeter Cornet, Peter Philips, Abraham Van der Kerckhoven, and others)
  • Juan María Pedrero on Tientos, Glosas and Diferencias: Spanish organ music in the European context of the 16th and 17th centuries

Participants may join as active players or passive listeners.

An afternoon dedicated to the German chorale tradition:

  • Bine Katrine Bryndorf on Buxtehude – the Small Chorale Preludes
  • Aurore Baal on Music and Theology in the Chorale Preludes of J.S. Bach
