The Contius organ is a unique baroque-instrument perfectly adapted to the performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works, including the generations before and after (up to Felix Mendelssohn in the middle of the 19th century).
The yearly International Contius-Bach Festival will be an active laboratory aiming to demonstrate these qualities; not only a testing-ground for the latest developments, but also as a showcase for public analysis.
Thus, the Contius organ aims to be a tangible link between the realm of organists and the worldof early music.
