Orgelbüchlein

The Contius Foundation believes in the power of music to unite people and spread a message of peace. With the timeless beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach's Orgelbüchlein, we bring this vision to life from the St. Michael Peace Church in Leuven.

Why the Orgelbüchlein?

Bach originally composed this collection as an introduction for beginner organists. But the Orgelbüchlein is more than a teaching manual. It offers a unique perspective on improvisation and composition based on chorales and reveals the profound spirituality embedded in Bach’s music. In just 45 short chorales, Bach masterfully combines technique, inspiration, and deep emotion.
