In 2026, the Contius Foundation continues to build resolutely on its mission: to use music as an active force for peace, encounter, and imagination, rooted in Leuven and with an open outlook toward Europe and the wider world. From the Contius organ in St Michael’s Peace Church — a place where history, spirituality, and contemporary reality meet — we present a year-long programme that does not regard peace as an abstract ideal, but as a verb: something that resounds, is shared, and is experienced.
From the Organ Marathon for Peace and international concerts to educational trajectories, competitions, workshops, and participatory projects, each initiative starts from the conviction that music can connect people across generations, disciplines, and beliefs. In this way, the Contius Foundation aims in 2026 to create an open space where listening leads to dialogue, where heritage is mobilized for contemporary questions, and where Leuven continues to resonate as a city that dares to let peace be heard.
